Lunar Eclipse (NGUYỆT THỰC) Dec. 10, 2011

I took those pix with a NIKON 80, 18-200 mm lens. I used the M function with timing from 5" to 15" (at full eclipse). I had to crop the pix since the moon was moving rapidly in the sky. I have a old 70-300mm for film camera (which will be 100 - 400 on the D80).

  1. Awesome picture! Light reflection elongates the moon a little bit. Very cool

  2. Dear TRI,
I am very sorry that I did not use the 70-300mm lens. Now I knew why the pix were not as sharp as I wish. I should have set ISO higher (800 ot mote) instead of 200 (I forgot the ISO), and the timing about 2 or 3" is best. I had to adjust the tripot every 5 minutes. I did not realise about the trajectory of the moon until now. Next time will be better.
